BOOZE NEWS
June 2005
It is time again to "lengthen the cords and strengthen the stakes" (Is. 54:2) and YOU, our dear friends, are our stakes! Thank you for your fervent effectual prayers! We are very excited to see what God is going to do.
Thanks for the prayers for us in Wisconsin. We made a dent in the decisions to be made. The extra blessing from the Lord was Boyd's meeting with the pastor of a 5 year old church plant. The pastor is burning low and was ready for some perspective and encouragement.
We now have less than 30 days until TAKE OFF for Malawi July 17. Larry and Laura from California will go with us for the 2 week construction project. That meands we have only 4 suitcases to carry 70# each of the requested construction items (each of us give up 1 suitcase for materials). We will be putting a metal roof on the building which is almost finished. After we send Larry & Laura off for home, Boyd will begin 2 weeks of teaching at the Bible Training Center which we just "roofed" (I hope to do basic Bible stories with the children). I'm saving some suitcase space for craft items like crayons, balloons and such. I don't think I've helped with VBS for 20 years and I don't know how much "help" I was then. So there will be great need for your prayers and great space for God's grace.
Then Boyd and I travel to Zambia and Zimbabwe for 2 weeks meeting with pastors at their churches. Boyd has two meetings "on the road". I don't know if we will travel alone or with a guide - more trusting. Then we return to Malaw for 2 more weeks of teaching at the Bible Training Center. (If my children's ministry was well prayed for, I may be swamped this second time and only the Lord knows what I will have available for materials by that time).
On September 17 we drive the 12 hour trip back to Lusaka, Zambia so we can leave for Seattle on the 19th.
But it is not about me and my inadequacies. It is about God and His adequacy - "above all that we can ask or think!" Pleae pray that God will do exceeding aboundantly above all we can ask or think (Eph. 3:20). This is especially true in that we are so aware that we have plans and ideas, but only God knows what is really going to happen. Boyd would really like to take a trip with Robin back to his village (he now has a wife and child) to see what God has been doing there. (This is the Yao vilage where we did the Community Service Project in 2003).
The "Mini Freedom in Christ" conference was cut short so we will try to do it again in the Fall.
Tickets to Africa are purchased and someone has paid for them!!
CLD is now completely changed over to Washington State. We apoligize for the confusion during our change over! We hope to get caught up on receipts and paperwork before we leave.
We also expect to get detailed prayer requests and a schedule out before we leave.
The hardest thing in going is leaving our daughter with her cancer. Please pray for God's healing and protection!
