About Us CLD was started by Dr. Harold Westing with the intent of helping local churches develop leaders who would, in turn, develop others. His passion carried over to his students at Denver Seminary as well as to other faculty and staff. In continuing with Dr. Westing's original vision we seek to - "Develop reproducing, godly leaders among all people in all spheres of influence" The strength or weakness of any organization lies with its leaders. The growth of the organization is dependent upon the ability and commitment of each leader to "mentor" and develop others. When an organization has a "hired trainer" to do the work of staff development and all others defer to the "trainer" healthy growth will cease. There may be an increase in numbers, programs and even finances, but leadership development is flawed. Philippians 4:9 provides us with a clear pattern for leadership development: "The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things and the God of peace will be with you." |
